How much does heating repair cost?

Why is my heat not working?
Common causes include a faulty thermostat, a tripped breaker, a failed heat strip or heating element, a dirty air filter, or a problem with the blower motor. Check that the thermostat is set to “heat” and the breaker hasn’t tripped. If it still won’t warm up, call us.
Why is my heat pump blowing cold air in heating mode?
Heat pumps naturally blow air that feels cooler than a furnace would, so it’s not always a fault. But if the air is truly cold, the cause could be a stuck reversing valve, low refrigerant, a failed heat strip, or the unit being in defrost mode. A technician can tell you which it is.
What should I do if I smell burning when my heat turns on?
A brief dusty smell the first time you use the heat after a long break is normal, since dust burns off the heating elements. If the smell is strong, lasts more than a few minutes, or smells like burning plastic or electrical wiring, turn the system off at the thermostat and the breaker, and call us right away.
How often should I have my heating system serviced?
We recommend a check-up once a year, ideally before the cooler months. Since most South Florida systems handle both heating and cooling, a single annual tune-up can help both, extend the life of your system, and prevent breakdowns.
