How much does water heater repair cost?

Why am I not getting hot water?
On an electric heater, the usual causes are a tripped breaker, a burned-out heating element, or a faulty thermostat. On a gas heater, it’s often a pilot light that has gone out or a failed thermocouple. Check that the breaker hasn’t tripped, and if the problem continues, call us.
Why is my water heater leaking?
Leaks often come from loose fittings, a faulty pressure relief valve, or a corroded tank. A leak at a fitting or valve can usually be repaired, but a leak from the tank itself typically means it needs to be replaced. Turn off the power (or gas) and the water supply to the unit, then call us promptly to prevent water damage.
Why is my water heater making popping or rumbling noises?
These sounds are usually caused by sediment that has built up at the bottom of the tank, which traps water underneath and makes it bubble as it heats. Flushing the tank can often fix it. If the noise continues, the heating element or tank may be wearing out.
Is it worth repairing my water heater or should I replace it?
If your heater is under about 8 to 10 years old and the problem is a part like an element, thermostat, or valve, repair is usually the better value. If it’s older, or the tank itself is leaking or corroded, replacement is usually the smarter choice. We’ll give you an honest recommendation either way.
