Why won't my trash compactor start?
Common causes include the drawer not being fully closed, a faulty safety or start switch, a missing or unturned key in the lock, a tripped breaker, or a failed motor. Check that the drawer is fully shut and the key is in the “on” position. If it still won’t start, call us.
Why is the ram stuck or not moving?
A jam from an overfilled or unevenly packed bag, a broken drive chain, or a failing drive motor are the usual culprits. Turn the unit off and unplug it (or shut off the breaker) before checking anything. Never reach under the ram, and call us if it won’t free up.
How can I get rid of the smell in my trash compactor?
Empty the bag regularly, avoid compacting wet food waste without a liner, and wipe down the drawer and interior with a mild cleaner. Charcoal filters or deodorizers, if your model has them, should be replaced periodically. If the odor persists after cleaning, we can check for other causes.
Is it worth repairing my trash compactor or should I replace it?
